How to play The Legend of Kawa
A complete guide — from controls to boss mastery
Story in a nutshell
You play Kawa, a young blacksmith in a kingdom ruled by the tyrant Zahhak. Your family is taken, so you forge your own sword and lead the blacksmiths' uprising to free your people. The journey unfolds across 20 chapters, from the forge to the palace, deserts to forests, bridges to the mountain summit for the final confrontation.
PC controls
Move: A/D to move left/right, W to jump, S to crouch or fast-fall. Attack: J for light, K for heavy, L for Dash. Defence: I for Block, U for Dodge Roll. Skills: 1–4 to trigger your active character skills. Menu: ESC to pause.
Touch controls (mobile)
Two virtual buttons at the bottom: left for movement, right for attack. Long-press attack for a heavy strike. Double-tap to Dash. The upper button under the screen triggers your special skill.
Your first hero: Kawa
Kawa is a balanced hero — average speed with above-average power. His main weapon is the smith's hammer. His special skill "Spark Strike" launches a horizontal wave of fire that damages all enemies in front of you. As you progress you unlock "Fire Shield" (block then reflect flames), "Ground Strike" (local earthquake) and "Flame of Victory" (ultimate).
The four game modes
1) Story Mode — the main journey through 20 chapters. 2) Endless Arena — infinite waves of enemies. 3) Boss Rush — face every boss back-to-back with no break. 4) Speedrun — one chapter with a timer that logs to the global leaderboard.
Progression & the Forge
After each chapter you earn Ember points. Take them to the Forge to upgrade your weapon: raise damage, add elements (fire, thunder, ice) or unlock passive effects (bleed, stun, burn). Every weapon has at least five upgrade nodes.
The seasonal Battle Pass
Each season has 100 reward tiers. Free tiers are available to everyone (skins, weapons, coins). Premium tiers ($4.99) unlock the best cosmetics. The current season is "The Legend of Kawa — Awakening", running 30 days from launch.
Advanced tips
1) Check your Loadout before every chapter — you might have a new weapon. 2) Enemies remember your last attack; vary your combos. 3) The chapter 2 boss (the Silent Butcher) opens his mouth before his big strike — use that half-second to Dodge. 4) Crown coins double on Fridays. 5) Use "Cloud Sync" in the menu before closing so you don't lose progress.
